You Said You Couldn't See

You said you couldn't see

The wood for the trees,

The branches for the leaves,

The wind for the breeze,

The sand for the sea.

The desert for the sand,

The ocean for the land,

The beach for the strand,

The hills for the uplands.

The clouds for the rain,

The grass for the plain,

The sugar for the cane,

The wheat for the grain.

You said you couldn't see,

Until you

Opened

Your

Eyes.

And the trees lived

And the wind-songs played,

And the sand blew

And the oceans sprayed.

And the hills stood tall

And the clouds gathered grey,

And the grass ever grew

And the wheat constantly swayed.

You said you couldn't see.

But you could.

You only

Had to

Open

Your

Eyes.
