Where The Seeds Fell

Where The Seeds Fell

Where the seeds fell,

They patiently lay.

Come happy days,

Come spring again.

Where the men fell,

They patiently lay.

Come the living's praise,

Come Heaven's days.

Where the seeds fell,

They awaited warmth and rain.

Dormancy through winter's ways,

Cold rest and covered stayed.

Where the men fell,

They awaited a cross, a name.

Tended in Flanders graves,

Forever rest and covered stayed.

Where the seeds fell,

Life beat slow within the mud.

Weather sewn and frost withstood,

Spring growth followed winter's flood.

Where the men fell,

Life stilled to nothing within the mud.

Weather beaten, no bullet withstood.

Spring barren, lifeless, followed winter's blood.
