Winter's Tears

Winter's Tears I cried tears, Stalactite formed On cheeks encrusted With winter thought. Sadness buried In the first snows. Drifting and lost, A whiteout of memories. And the tears Ice carved to A crystalline carapace. Where all shine Had dulled to blackness And light erased. The tears layered Strata scored and Hardened in the Freezing rock-winds. Biting and bitter. Winter's tears left A permanent scar. No thaw in the daylight. ___________________________ Winter is a time of painful memories for me. When my daughter passed away. Winter's tears flow.
