Damn The Bike

Damn The Bike Damn every bruise and scrape Every pain and ache Curse each hill each metre climbed Every sharp intake of air as the road inclines Damn the cold the heat the wind the rain Shiver and sweat soaked to skin again Damn the saddle sores & the grimace of pretend smiles Curse the unending road and damn the miles But most of all damn the bike Damn the bike as you should Because damn every ride When you return Life feels so good _____________________________ How is it an activity such as cycling can cause so much pain, but ultimately so much pleasure?
